Painted Ridges Hat Pattern

Simple elegant hat pattern created with delicate painted ridges and eyelets. Designed to enhance the hand-painted colors of variegated yarns and it’s also stunning knit in solid. Worked bottom-up, in the round.

Sizes range from Baby to adult. The sample is knit to be slightly slouchy.

Sizes: XXS (XS, S, M, L)

Finished Measurements: 16 (17, 19, 22, 24)” / 40 (43, 48.5, 56, 61) cm

Yarn: 110 (120, 135, 150, 160) yds/ 100 (110, 123, 137, 146) m DK / 8 ply yarn that achieves gauge. Sample knit in Malabrigo Silky Merino (51% Silk, 49% Merino), in Cumparsita.

Needle Size: US size 6 / 4mm 16” (40cm) circular needle, or size to achieve gauge; same-sized needles for your preferred method of small circumference knitting; US size 4 / 3.5mm 16” (40cm) circular needle

Notions: Stitch marker, tapestry needle

Gauge: 23 sts x 32 rows = 4”(10cm) in Stockinette Stitch on larger needles.
