A Summertide Cowl Pattern
Easy to memorize, the lace stitch pattern is much simpler then it looks. The use of linen, cotton or bamboo enhances and defines the reversible lace in A Summertide Cowl.
It is knit sideways with a provisional cast on and seamed with Kitchener St or Three Needle Bind off. Designed to use just under 250 yds/ 230 m for a single loop cowl.
Both the length and width are easily adjustable if you want a longer infinity cowl for wrapping.
Finished Measurements : 7" x 28" / 18 cm x 71 cm, easily adjustable to accommodate your yardage.
Yarn: 250 yds / 230 m Sport weight yarn. Sample used Tristen Yarn by Knitting Fever (65% Rayon, 35% linen), in 108.
Needle Size: US size 6 / 4mm needles.
Notions: Tapestry needle to weave in ends, stitch marker, waste yarn, and crochet hook of the same size as the gauge needle
Gauge: 15 sts x 18 rows = 4" (10cm) in Stitch Pattern. Gauge is not overly important, but may alter yardage required and finished size.
Skill Level: Adventurous Beginner
