Suave Hat Knitting Pattern

Suave, delicate, and refined. This simplified stranded colourwork motif is knit bottom-up and in the round. With three sizes, each in two lengths, this is a hat you can knit time and again. A perfect Winter hat!

Sizes : Youth (Adult Medium, Adult Large), in two lengths, Slighty Slouchy and Beanie

Finished Measurements: Circumference 18.5 (20, 22)” / 47 (51, 56) cm. Note: 1 to 1.5” of negative ease is recommended for the Slightly Slouchy hat; 3” of negative ease is recommended for the Beanie.

Yarn : Sport weight yarn for your size and length: Slightly Slouchy MC 160 (188, 216) yds / 146(166, 216) m; CC 54 (54, 72) yds/ 49 (49, 66) m. Beanie MC 120 (126, 140) yds / 109 (115, 128) m; CC 54 (54, 72) yds/ 49 (49, 65) m. Samples knit in Chickadee by Quince and Co. Beanie Storm & Glacier; Slightly Slouchy Bird’s Egg & Glacier.

Needle Size : Youth & Adult Large: US 3 / 3 mm, US 4 / 3.5mm 16” circular needles; Adult Medium : US 4/ 3.5 mm, US 6 / 4 mm 16” circular needles. Plus your preference for small circumference knitting. Due to the nature of the colorwork motif, finished size is based on needle size. Please check gauge to avoid disappointment.
